July 2011, Guizhou, China

I joined a trip as a volunteer educator to one of the poorest county in Guizhou, China. It was somehow easy to “experience” and “connect” for a few days with those who seek to live and thrive in extreme conditions, children who have to walk for 2 hours to attend school. It is too easy to spread a few seeds of hope, but it is those that keeps caring for the seeds are truly to be admired. I have long been back on my own track of life. Still, I share the hopes of these keepers of Spring. “Shouwang Chuntian” (literally watching for spring) is a grass-root NGO that strive to give opportunities for kids from countryside poor and far from cities to attend schools.
